‘The Puccini Scandal’ makes a much anticipated return after its sold out debut at the NCH in 2015.

The 'Villa Puccini' in Tuscany, Italy, is the setting for this intriguing new dramatisation of the life of opera composer Giacomo Puccini.  As he struggles to finish his opera ‘Turandot’, the composer brings us on a journey through his life, interspersed with "flashback" scenes from his most loved operas such as ‘La Bohème’, ‘Madama Butterfly’, ‘Tosca’, ‘Gianni Schicchi’, ‘La Rondine’, ‘Turandot’ and others.

Niall Morris is charismatic in the central role of the great composer, tormented by ghosts of the past, while internationally  acclaimed British tenor Alexander Edwards returns to perform some of the greatest arias every written for tenor voice, including "Che Gelida Manina" & "Nessun Dorma". Sensational Irish soprano Mairead Buicke sings such classics as "Un Bel Di Vedremo" & "Vissi d'Arte" and the brilliant baritone Simon Morgan sings the music of ‘Il Tabarro’ & Scarpia in ‘Tosca’.

Niall Morris as Puccini. With Mairead Buicke, Alexander Edwards, Simon Morgan, accompanied by concert pianist Anthony Byrne and featuring violin soloist Denice Doyle.
