Mentoring: Singing Leader Mentoring Programme Bristol

James has been invited by South West Music School, in partnership with WNO to mentor 5 choir leaders in the Bristol Area.

As part of the Bristol Singing Strategy South West Music School will be offering a 12 month mentoring programme for 5 vocal leaders from across the city. The program will be lead by International Tenor, James Edwards.

Each successful candidate (mentee) will be assigned a mentor. This will be a vocal leader / performer or arts professional currently working in the business with knowledge of the mentee’s specific area of expertise (though not necessarily the same pathway).

Mentors will work through their mentee’s musical and career knowledge and experience and explore their strengths and areas of development. From this the mentor and mentee will create goals and tasks to be completed and explored. This process will finally feed into the creation of a Personal Development Plan (PDP). The PDP will clearly set out objectives and goals for the year ahead once the mentee has left the programme. Through this process there will also be the opportunities to become a member of the South West Music Network and participate in available opportunities.
