“CALLAS” is the world’s first stage show about the legendary opera star Maria Callas. The show explores her famous love affair with Greek shipping tycoon Aristotle Onassis, who left Callas in 1968 to marry President JFK’s widow, Jackie Kennedy.  Drawing remarkable parallels between her personal life and the roles she played on stage, “CALLAS” is a fascinating insight into one of the most enigmatic and iconic performers of the 20th Century.

Maria Callas is played by the sensational Sinead Campbell-Wallace. She is joined by the brilliant Irish baritone Gavan Ring in the role of Onassis and much-loved UK tenor Alexander James Edwards as Meneghini. The show is narrated by the voice of acclaimed British actor Simon Callow CBE (‘Four Weddings & A Funeral’; ‘A Room With A View’; ‘Amadeus’).

Presenting world-famous music from operas such as ‘Madame Butterfly’, ‘La Bohème’, ‘Tosca’, ‘Carmen’, ‘La Traviata’, ‘The Pearl Fishers’, “CALLAS” is the most popular opera-themed show ever to be staged in the history of Irish theatre with over 15,000 seats sold.
Bord Gais Energy Theatre debut.
