Internationally acclaimed tenor Alexander James Edwards returns as Luciano Pavarotti with special guest soprano Sandra Oman and The Maria Callas Chamber Orchestra directed by Andrew Synnott. Written & Directed by Niall Morris, this show was a debut sell-out during the 2016 season.
Luciano Pavarotti extended his presence far beyond the limits of the opera house, rising to become an instantly recognisable icon of popular culture. With his enormously successful version of the aria "Nessun Dorma", which became the signature tune of the 1990 World Cup, he broke the boundaries between classical and pop music. He was seen by millions world-wide in "The Three Tenors" as audiences warmed to his expansive personality and gleaming, golden voice.
Pavarotti's life story is a classic rags to riches tale, from his humble origins in provincial Italy to global superstar. But that fame and fortune came at a price. Constantly surrounded by his entourage, increasingly preoccupied with food and obsessively insecure about his voice, Luciano retreated into his own private world, a prisoner of his own unique success.
This is the story of the man behind the voice.
